Improvements

Almost finished with the stairs. Remember what they looked like before?

The depressing thing is that even after all of the work we've done on the house in the last 16 months, it may actually be worth less than when we bought it. I intentionally don't read the flyers that local realtors drop off that show the listing price of the homes in our neighborhood that are for sale. I don't want to end up like the housing market: depressed.

At least the projects are fun. I'll post more photos of the stairs once all of the iron is in and we've re-carpeted them. Anyone want to lay odds on which of us will talk the other into new carpet for the living room at the same time?

We're getting the stairs done not a moment too soon. Kate will soon be walking and getting into everything. You'll see that while she's getting pretty good at balancing she still likes to try to break her fall with her face (note the very beginning of the clip). You can faintly see the shiner under her right eye from when she did this last week. Fearless, perhaps, but certainly not wise.
