Its Go Time!

Jaime checks into the hospital

Real time update: We are having a baby!

I was awakened at 1:30 a.m. this morning by Devoted Wife, who announced that it was time to go to the hospital. "Contractions?" I asked. "No," she replied, "but its time." I didn't have to ask how she knew when I saw the puddle she was standing in.

Its amazing how few cars there are on the road at 2:00 a.m. We made record time to the hospital (Devoted Wife's accusations that my running several red lights was motivated less by concern for her and the baby and more by a desire to break the law were of course unfounded) where she was admitted and placed in the labor and delivery room to see whether her contractions would begin naturally. When nothing more had occurred by 6:45 this morning, they started her on Pitocin, and she's progressed steadily since that time.

At this very moment, Devoted Wife is enjoying her epidural while reading a book, Unborn Kate's heartrate is strong and we're aiming for delivery tonight or early in the morning tomorrow!

We hope to have her on an exercise program like this within the week.

Post your comments with your predictions for her (1) length, (2) weight and (3) time of birth. No prizes, just glory, for the winners!

My guess is that it was around 3:36 PM when the Devoted Wife was still feeling good and still excited about the delivery and acting loving toward Devoted Husband. However reality soon hit and at 4:08 PM the screaming and swearing began, with the death threats directed at anyone and everyone starting around 5:35 PM mixed in with "this is all your fault" directed toward Devoted Husband. Around 6:13 PM it progressed to "you will never ever ever ever touch me again!", and then at 7:01 AM the 6 lbs 13 oz package was finally delivered and it turned to "I love you...when should we start for the next one?" :) HeRoos
