Queen for a day!

While Kate may not be old enough to appreciate the meaning of the holiday of Easter, she is old enough to appreciate the massive amounts of attention she received Sunday from Devoted Wife's family members. Seriously, this child never touched the ground all day.

If Kate experiences a few more Easters like this one, I can already imagine the conversations she might one day have with a future Sunday School teacher:

Teacher: Children, who knows the meaning of Easter? Kate, how about you?
Kate: Sure, I know what it means.
Teacher: OK, go ahead and tell the class . . .
Kate: Easter is amazing! Each year I can't wait for Easter to come!
Teacher: But what we do on Easter?
Kate: We hide eggs and eat tons of candy! And I get to put on my prettiest dress!
Teacher: Perhaps, but who is the important person that we all think about on Easter?
Kate: Oh yeah . . . ME!!!

The best part of the day was having people fight over who got to change her diaper. Trust me, I stood out of the way and let the bidding commence. I was more than happy to turn my attention to Grandma's . . . er, Nonna's . . . fantastic roast chicken and Devoted Wife's amazing chocolate ganache cake.
